account deletion
Delete your Markerra account
You can delete your Markerra account directly in the app or request deletion by email if you no longer have the app or cannot sign in.
What will be deleted
Account deletion removes the Markerra app account and Markerra app data linked to the user: progress in every game you joined, scan attempts, rewards, analytics events, and your nickname, results and nickname reports on game leaderboards, except data that we must keep for a limited time for security, complaint handling, or accountability. This operation cannot be undone.
If a game issues a reward code, until the end of that game's data retention period we may keep a record that the reward was already claimed. The record does not contain your email address in readable form and only prevents claiming the reward again by creating a new account.
Aggregated or anonymised data that cannot be linked to the user may remain in game reports and summaries.
Delete the player account in the app
This path covers the player account — the one you sign in with in the Markerra app using Google, or Apple on an iPhone.
- Open the Markerra app. If the “My games” list opens, enter any game or the demo.
- In the bottom bar, tap “Help”, then “Account and settings”.
- Choose “Delete account”.
- Type the word “delete” and confirm with “Delete account”. When it finishes, the app returns to the sign-in screen.
If you see an “Account & help” button in the header of the “My games” list, you can start there instead of entering a game: tap it, then follow steps 3 and 4. To get from a game back to the “My games” list, tap the back arrow in the top-left corner.
If you publish games in Markerra Studio
If you sign in to the app and to the Markerra Studio panel with the same Google or Apple account, it is one account: deleting it in the app also deletes the organizer account. Deleting an organizer account ends the contracts concluded under the Markerra Studio Terms, and published games stop being available to players. The unused part of a one-off Publication is not refunded unless you exercise the right of withdrawal described in §7 of those terms. A Subscription ends at once and we do not charge you again; for a yearly Subscription we refund the part of the price proportionate to the full unused days of the current billing period, and for a monthly one we do not refund the price of the current month (§6a(9) and §15 of the terms). This does not limit the right of withdrawal (§7) or the Consumer's rights after a yearly renewal (§6a(7)).
During the free period (§3a of the Markerra Studio Terms), deleting the organizer account ends your Free Publications: the games stop being available to players, we neither charge nor refund anything, and we delete the records of those contracts, together with the declarations and confirmations, along with the account. The sentences on this page about a one-off Publication and a Subscription concern the time after the free period.
Payment records and invoices are not deleted with the account: we keep them for 5 years from the end of the year in which the tax payment deadline fell, because accounting and tax law requires it. Subscription records — including the evidence of the consent to automatic renewal — and the payment records for its periods are kept for 6 years from the end of the year in which the Subscription ended. The Privacy Policy explains the details.
Delete the organizer account from Markerra Studio
You create the organizer account in the Markerra Studio panel with an email address and a password, or with a Google or Apple account. The panel has no delete-account button today, so an organizer deletes the account by email, using the path below. The Markerra app does not accept an account created with an email address and a password. If you sign in to the panel with a Google or Apple account and use the same account in the app, it is one account — you can also delete it in the app, as in “Delete the player account in the app”, with the effects described above. A message asking us to delete the account also ends your Subscription (§6a(6) of the terms).
Before you delete the account — in the app or by email — download your games. The delete-account window in the app lists only player data, but deleting an organizer account also deletes your Studio games and ends any running Subscription (see above). In Markerra Studio, below your game list, open “Your account” and click “Download my data (JSON)”. Once the account is deleted, your games and drafts are deleted and cannot be recovered.
Write from the address you sign in to the panel with. What deleting the organizer account means for published games is described in “If you publish games in Markerra Studio” above.
Delete the account without the app
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, send an account deletion request to: kontakt@markerra.app.
- If possible, send the message from the email address used to sign in to Markerra.
- Use the subject “Markerra account deletion”.
- Tell us how you signed in to Markerra: with a Google account, an Apple account, or an email address and a password (the organizer account in Markerra Studio accepts all three). Add the game name if you remember it.
Before deleting the account, we may ask for additional confirmation so we do not delete the wrong account.
Deletion timing
In-app account deletion is performed after the logged-in user confirms the action. Email requests are handled after we confirm that they refer to the correct account. If the in-app operation fails because of a temporary technical issue, refresh the app data or use the email request path. We complete requests without undue delay and generally no later than one month after receiving a verified request. For complex cases, this period may be extended by two additional months; we will inform the user within the first month and explain the reason for the extension.
Data controller
The data controller is Przemysław Wiśniewski Digital, a sole proprietorship registered in CEIDG, NIP: 5243019522, REGON: 529876286, address: ul. Turmoncka 22/1103, 03-254 Warsaw, Poland.
The fastest path is deleting the account in the app, because the process is automated and tied to the logged-in user. If you do not have access to the app, you can send an account deletion request by email.
