tasks in the field
Points with tasks where the session actually happens.
A game point is a place with a task: a monument, an exhibit, a memorial plaque, a tree in
the park. Four point types are available: a QR code printed straight from the panel, a
code word to type in (say, a year from a plaque), reaching a location confirmed by GPS,
and an NFC tag for advanced setups. Types mix freely in one game.
Preparing and checking the configuration in Studio is free. Playing your own game in the app
requires paid publication. Participation is always free for players.
how the trip runs
A code on the board, phones out, a shared finale.
The game code can go on the whiteboard or in a message to participants. They play solo or
in teams sharing one phone — each game's progress is saved separately, so groups never
get in each other's way. The app enforces duplicates, wrong codes, and the game zone
with real-world GPS tolerance.
After reaching the game goal, every group sees standard completion and a code.
You communicate any instructions on where to report afterwards separately.
organizer responsibility
The organizer runs the trip; the technology just helps.
The game organizer chooses the terrain and stays responsible for the group's safety, for the
task content, and for making sure the join code reaches adults only — just as they are
responsible for who comes on any trip. Players sign in with a Google account (or Apple on
iPhone), and the in-app participation rules require players to be 18 or older, on their own
account.
Markerra supplies the technology: the panel, the player app, point validation, and saved
progress. After publishing the game, walk it yourself on a phone before inviting participants.
